A Wider Table - On the Type of Love Christ Offers
This is the scandal and beauty of the Gospel: love comes first.
Not as approval of everything we do. Not as sentimentality. But as the deep recognition that every human soul bears the image of God and is worthy of reverence, compassion, and care.
Christ did not say, “Come to me once you are perfect.” He simply said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
This is the kind of table I long to help build: wide enough for the wounded, honest enough for the searching, peaceful enough for the weary, and loving enough for every soul still trying to find its way home.
